I know, this is an interesting question, but I need help.
Someone want to run an archive on o local server. Is it possible? Should Omeka be on localhost on a local server?
Are the connected devices (computers) to server must run Linux, or can they run Windows as well?
For development, I work mainly on a localhost server without internet connection and it works fine. Omeka is a standard php application, and you can run on any server, as long as it is well configured. Nevertheless, linux is the most frequent used server, so it’s simpler to use it. Windows can run a server, but you may have issues to config it (mainly the imagemagick/imagick dependency), because there are many different versions of Windows.
