Videos missing audio on Safari

Hello,
We’ve recently experienced issues with audio not playing on mp4 videos when using Safari to view our Omeka site. Here’s an example: Permanent Crisis: The Humanities in a Disenchanted Age · St. John's College Digital Archives.

I assume this has something to do with an encoding incompatibility of some sort but wondered if others had experienced it as well and might have tracked down more specifics. The videos play with audio in Chrome and Edge as well as VLC and Windows Media Player.

Your video is H.264 video and MP3 audio: as far as I can look up, Safari should support that audio but it might be the problem here. Using AAC for audio is more standard, and it’s a more Apple-y format.
