Uploaded images not appearing

We are fairly new to Omeka S site-building.

We have been successful using the platform to display IIIF embeds from our digital library platform, but we are running into issues displaying uploaded images. I think we are doing something incorrectly in establishing the link between the Item record and the Media file…or perhaps there is something happening with the modules we have installed.

Here is an example from our “sandbox” site – Bread recipes · Breadbox: A test site · The Claremont Colleges Library

The dog image at the bottom doesn’t appear using the Media Embed block. Though when you click through to the item record it appears. Is there where a thumbnail should appear?

It looks to me like you’re just not getting thumbnails generated. Do you have ImageMagick installed? You can check from the system information page (linked at the footer of all admin pages) with the “Get ImageMagick version” button.

I updated the config path following this instruction: https://support.reclaimhosting.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500005621461-ImageMagick-in-Omeka#imagemagick-in-omeka-0-0

But still having the issue.

Thanks for the advice! I’ll keep plugging away.

Just a note: if you did fix this and now that button is working and showing information about your ImageMagick versions, you’d need to upload a new image to see the effects. It won’t affect existing files.

We will try removing and re-uploading a batch of images to see if that works on our main sites.
