I’m helping a colleague restore access to an Omeka Classic site hosted by Bluehost. The admin email that the Bluehost folks gave her is one she has no recollection of ever creating, although it seems to be a CPanel email. I’ve tried going into her database, but I want to make sure I know what I’m doing before I tinker with it. Is the user table in the database the best way to go about this?
The users table is what stores the usernames, emails, and hashed passwords for users in an Omeka site. In sites older than the very latest version, like I assume you’re dealing with, the stored password hashes are a SHA-1 hash of the “salt” column followed by the password.
