I’ve updated the step by step installation document we use at the University of Arizona School of Information to create an Omeka installation on a VMware or Virtualbox virtual machine for classroom/practice use for anyone interested. It’s based on the current version of Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, which requires a different approach to installing LAMP and configuring MySQL than previous versions. The document is released under Creative Commons 3.0, and I’ve located it on my personal Google Drive at the link above for anyone interested in giving it a try or further sharing.
