Themes not showing up after installed

Im not seeing the new themes i uploaded to …/themes dir.
Steps taken:

1. wget the theme and unzipped it in …/themes dir
2. changed owner and set permissions
3. restarted apache

in omeka-s admin page and site, i went to site and Themes and only the default theme shows up although there are many other in the server dir …/themes

/var/www/html/omeka/themes
[root@omeka01 themes]# ll

Im I missing a step after the theme has been uploaded?

Are you using Classic themes in an S install? Try installing one of these themes: https://omeka.org/s/themes/

Looks like I was trying to install a classic Theme. Is there a way to convert classic to S?

Not so far as I know- you can look at the developer documentation for themes in S and Classic to see the differences
