Sorting items by Identifier

Hello,

Is there any way to change the default item order in Omeka Classic? Not in a collection but on the main ‘browse items’ page?

I would like the page to default to oldest item first, rather than most recently added.

I have seen the item order plug-in, but is this only for collections, and do you have to manually drag and drop the items to reorder them using this plug-in?

You can order on the browse page with a query string, ?sort_field=added&sort_dir=a on the end of item browse URL will sort by date with oldest first for example.

One simple option here is editing your navigation so that query is in the link that goes in the site’s navigation menu.
