Is it possible to remove the drop-down search options from the keyword search on the public side (see screen shot)? We have more or less overridden this feature with the solr search plug-in, which in our case uses a Chinese tokenizer/analyzer, and these options simply don’t work.
It might depend on the theme you are using, but many of them have a configuration option for “Use Advanced Site-wide Search”. Unchecking that option will likely give you what you are looking for.
