We’re using the default search box in our layout nav bar, which navigates to the default /search path with the text entered. We’d prefer however to use Faceted Browse for our default search and have the nav bar search box redirect to there. I could do a custom search box to do so, but thought I’d ask if anyone else already has to save myself some time?

It’s a great idea. We’re working on a way to direct sitewide, full-text searches to Faceted Browse instead of the default search, in the sitewide-search-setting branch.
Jim, that is amazing! Thank you so much for that. I just wish I had checked back sooner and saved the effort of hacking my own version in! Soon as that’s released I’ll be switching 
On a similar note, another great feature would be integrating Faceted Browse and Metadata Browse, i.e. the Metadata Browse search link could take you to the Faceted Browse page with that Facet selected.
