Today we’re releasing Omeka S version 1.4.0.
This release contains a variety of smaller features and fixes. Some highlights include official support for PHP 7.3, a homepage selector for sites that works more like Omeka Classic’s, enhancements to the “user bar” to make it easier to go back to working on a site after viewing it, among many others. Users with larger sites should notice significantly higher performance for sorted browsing, as well.
This version also includes some improvements to our internal handling of uploaded files; these are mostly developer-facing changes but they give modules a reliable way to work on uploaded files regardless of where they’re eventually stored. As an example, see the just-released Extract Text module.
