IT is asserting that Omeka Classic will eventually not work on our infrastructure; that the CHNM will no longer update Omeka to run, so old versions of Omeka will no longer work on newer server infrastructure. Is there a kernal of truth? Should I start to think about migrating?
There are no plans at present to sunset Omeka Classic. We released 2.6 in February and just released Omeka Everywhere, a suite of tools which works with Classic specifically. Are there specific components of the system about which your IT people are concerned?
They just wanted to know if it would continue to be updated so it can sit on the latest versions of php. Thank you.
