Omeka Classic and Google Analytics

How do I add the Google Analytics code to an Omeka Classic site? This seems to be something folks have given up on, no mentions in the forum for a long while and the old plugin no longer works.

Has anyone ever tried doing it in a .js file or adding it to the theme .js ? No idea if that would work but I have heard that done on other platforms. I can use the hosting services analytics to a point but would prefer Google to keep this resource aligned with the data we are getting for other platforms.

Hi @nicolescalessa ,

I would just add the code snippet to /my-theme/common/header.php.

The only thing I think you’d need to watch for is if you’re using a standard theme, you don’t want to overwrite it if you do an upgrade in the future.
