Migrate from Classic to S

I inherited a very outdated version of Omeka Classic (3.0) for a library (archives.yourmdl.org) mainly for local history projects and curation.

We want to migrate over to S from Classic and I was looking everywhere for some clues as to how to do this in an organized way without having to recreate all of our data, etc.

I have read the docs and it’s obviously a very different framework so I didn’t know if there were any tips or tricks in easing this transition? I noticed there may be some migration tools, but not sure if these are outdated either. Any insights or links to resources would be appreciated!

You’ll want to check out the Omeka Classic Importer: Omeka S - Omeka Classic Importer It’s designed to import items from a Classic site to S, but exhibits will need to be recreated by hand.

For information, there is a mapping between omeka classic plugins and omeka s modules.
