Limit blockAttachmentsForm to single item

I have created a new block element for the Omeka Admin backend using the ViewHelper “blockAttachmentsForm” to allow the user to select items. Is it somehow possible to limit “blockAttachmentsForm” so that a maximum of only one item can be selected?
Or is there another way to force that only one item can be attached per block?
