I received an email from a co-worker yesterday that some of our item carousels weren’t looking right on one of our sites. On some pages, they were functioning normally. On others, the navigation arrows were missing, and there was no way to move between images. The carousel configurations were the same on all pages. I noticed that a handful of our modules, including the Item Carousel Block module, needed to be updated. I installed the updates for Item Carousel Block, Block Plus, Common, and Timeline. Our theme, Freedom, is on the latest version, too.
Since I updated our modules, the problem is still present. I’ve attached screenshots for reference. The first screenshot shows a normal carousel with its arrows. The second screenshot shows a different carousel, configured the same way, without its navigation arrows.
Can you share links to the “right” and “wrong” examples? It’ll be a lot easier to tell what’s going on by looking at the page itself rather than a screenshot.
This seems to be the only page where the carousel isn’t working. The two examples I linked have their item carousels formatted in the same way. They each have multiple items. They are set to 1 item per slide, item type large, show item title with center alignment, no stretch, breakpoint 820, and infinite loop checked.
You have that “bad” block configured with a “Center” block alignment setting (under Alignment in the settings sidebar available from the block’s “gear” icon). Can you try taking that setting out (changing it to “Default”)? It looks like it might be interfering with the carousel correctly calculating its width.
I went into the alignment of the other page’s carousel block just to check, and it’s set to default. Is that something the block can change on its own? I didn’t change that setting, and the person working on this site didn’t adjust the alignment in the block’s settings.
