Is there code I can add to get rid of the white spaces in between specific Blocks in an exhibit?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there was any kind of code I could add to remove empty white space in between specific blocks within a digital exhibit page? I’m noticing that in the public facing view, in between an Image (file block) and text block there is a huge gap, and I’d like to potentially remove the space so that the viewer doesn’t have to scroll as much to see the rest of the exhibit items on the page.

The big gap looks like it’s just some extra blank lines in that block of the exhibit, so you should be able to just edit the page and delete those lines from that text block.

Hi John,

Thank you for that catch! For some of them, there seems to be a huge break from gallery or file blocks to text blocks…would there be any code to make those empty spaces smaller? See here as an example:

That one also looks like it’s got extra lines in one of the text inputs for the page. This time, the extra lines are in the caption for that image.

It seems like the source of the issue is the class exhibit-bloc and in it, margin-bottom:1.5em;

Don’t trust me on this.

In Chrome (or other browswer) devtools, add the class * with border: 1px solid black;

This way you will be able to see all the borders of all the elements and see when each element begins and ends.

Then, still in devtools, change .exhibit-bloc margin-bottom: to 0em and see if it solves your problem and if it doesn’t break anything else.

Only then, if you want to make the global change, use the plugin CSS Editor to change this value.
