Is it safe to delete a user with many assets

Hi,

I am concerned about deleting a user that has many assets assigned to them. I have deactivated but wanted to know the official word about this. Thanks!

Deleting users doesn’t delete the things they’ve created.

What would be the reason to delete them rather than remove active status? We have a lot of student workers who have moved on, but I leave them as inactive users.

Hi CathyHajo,

The University Technology Office wants to reduce applications with inactive accounts. Like you the accounts are mostly student workers and prior staff. John answered my question to make sure that no items or item-sets are tied to users which is good news. I kind of figured but I wanted to make sure. We are developing a policy to take into consideration, the process for removing or deactivating accounts of prior students and staff to include Omeka, PHP, and JavaScript applications.
