I have ImageMagick installed, but as long as we’ve had Omeka, we’ve never had thumbnails from videos. I’m wondering if there is some way to get ImageMagick to make them for us.
If you have ffmpeg installed in addition to ImageMagick, you should be able to get thumbnails for videos.
That’s cool. Do I just install it and Omeka pics up on it?
It should just get picked up automatically by ImageMagick (and therefore by Omeka).
Where does it get installed on a shared hosting server?
On shared hosting you’ll probably have trouble getting something like this installed if it’s not already there.
ImageMagick is typically going to look for ffmpeg in the standard path for binaries, which you won’t have access to edit.
