Hello
I have created my SQL database and then completed steps 1-3 in installation, but I’m not sure where to go–> ( In your web browser, navigate to the admin page for your Omeka S installation (yoururl/admin), where you can complete installation.)

Do I need to create a website and hosting before ?

If you would like to build a publicly accessible Omeka S installation, you do need web hosting. You’ll want to unzip the download package in a publicly visible directory on the server.

I have another question, I have this written on the site:

Some installation requirements were not satisfied.

  • An exception occurred in driver: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known

This indicates there’s some problem with what you’ve got in your config/database.ini file. The error message you’re seeing is saying that the server can’t connect to the host you specified there.
