Imagemagick does not generate thumbnails

Hi, I have installed Imagemagick without any problem, and the directory is marked as correct in the Settings tab. I have Ghostscript installed and updated.
However, thumbnails are not being generated for my files (PDF).
I have looked at other forum topics and tried a few things that did not work:

  1. I used the DerivativeImages plugin.
  2. I uploaded a new file which also did not generate a thumbnail. Therefore, the problem is not only with previously uploaded files.
  3. I tried the convert command from the console. I get an error regarding security policies. According to my search, this can be solved by modifying an .xml file that I do not have in my directory (the version I use is 7.1.1).

What other options do I have that work well for PDF? I have always used ImageMagick.

The location for the policy.xml file will vary depending on your distribution, but applying the workaround shown in linux - ImageMagick security policy 'PDF' blocking conversion - Stack Overflow worked for me on multiple occasions.

Hi @Mcataldi ,

There are also a few posts on this forum that show how to set the permissions on the policy.xml file so that PDF thumbnails can be generated.
