Hi, I’ve been asked to migrate an Omeka Classic database into Omeka S.
I’m using the Omeka Classic Importer - it all seems quite straight forward, but I don’t understand how to import some of the Meta Data.
I’m using Moving Image Item Type and have data in ‘Additional Tape Metadata’ and ‘Tape Manufacturer’.
When I look at the Item Type Metadata mapping section, there is a list at the bottom of unmapped data (including the two fields I want to map) but I can’t see how to map them to the Omeka S equivalent. Screenshot attached.
In this screen once you’ve selected an unmapped property on the left side of the screen, you’d then choose the Omeka S property you want to map it to on the right side of the screen (where you currently have the list starting “BCC” open).
These “tape” metadata fields from your Omeka Classic site seem like they were probably custom-created item type metadata, so there might not be an exact matching property in Omeka S to select; one option there would be to select something that’s less specific, like Dublin Core’s “Format” or “Medium.” There are other options as well, like looking for a vocabulary that includes the properties you want, or making them yourself, though we’d generally suggest to stick to standard vocabularies as much as possible.
