Hi everyone, I’m Ronin, founder of The Record Institute (https://therecord.institute) — a free, non-commercial digital archive of pre-2000 printed ephemera: vintage magazine ads, posters, and brand ephemera, published in seven languages. I’ve personally sourced 40,000+ physical items over the years.
My site wasn’t built on Omeka, but I’m here because this community knows more about digital collection metadata and long-term preservation than anywhere else. I’m especially interested in how others handle item-level metadata at scale and rights statements for 20th-century printed material.
Happy to exchange notes with anyone working on advertising, poster, or ephemera collections. Looking forward to learning from you all.
