Error installing new themes

Hello,

I am trying to install new themes (freedom and bookshelf themes) to my fresh Omeka S installation, following the procedure given in the user manual. I’m using Omeka S 4.1.1.

Unfortunately, when I try to select any of the new installed themes, I got a red error message : “Invalid theme.ini file”

I probably missed something, but can’t find out.

Thank you in advance for your help !

Hi @frp ,

It’s hard to help without more information, but I’m guessing you have the themes unzipped a level too deep. In other words, the freedom folder is within another folder; thus, Omeka doesn’t see the theme.ini where it expects it to be.

The structure should look like this:

Thank you for your prompt reply and sorry for the lack of details.

The “themes” directory structure in my installation is exactly the same as in your screenshot. However, I get the following result :

I don’t know what information would be useful to you, but I’ll provide it on request.

Again, thank you a lot for your help.

Hi @frp ,

Can you post a screenshot of the directory structure like I did?

Hi @fackrellj ,

Here is the directory structure :

Hi @frp ,

Thanks for sharing that directory structure. It looks good to me.

If you haven’t edited any of the files and this is a fresh installation, unfortunately, I don’t have any more suggestions.

I tried creating a fresh install of Omeka S 4.1.1 with the latest versions of both themes and I’m not seeing an issue.

Usually in this kind of situation this indicates a permissions problem of some kind. You might compare the permissions of “default” and its subfolders to your new ones and see what differs.

Thank you very much ! I fixed the permissions and everything works well now.
