Custom Vocab as URI

I think I’m just looking for confirmation on this: Can declarative entries in a Custom Vocab list be URIs? I see that they can be text or Omeka Resources, but I’d love to have them be URIs. Unsurprisingly, putting markup into the text of a Custom Vocab entry results in markup as text in the metadata facet on the Item page.

Is there side door, an undocumented method? A module waiting to be written?

The Custom Vocab module does not have that feature. I’ve added an issue and we’ll definitely consider it.
