Browse - New Items default to Created By above Date Sorting

I have Browse set to the following:

… but the newly created records ignore this.
So for instance: A new record with a date field of 1921 is sitting above one for 2025 even though Browse is set to be by Date.

How do I fix this?

This does not happen if Browse is set to title.

This is a relatively new feature, and not all themes support it yet, I know foundation in particular has issues, not sure about some of the others. What theme are you using?
