Hi there, I wonder if anybody knows why there seems to be a conflict between Chrome and the Bookreader plugin? It’s suddenly stopped displaying properly. It never displayed properly but worked when it was full screen. Now it isn’t even doing that. I’m presuming it’s on a Chrome conflict as it’s working fine with Internet Explorer (or whatever that’s called nowadays) so I’m wondering if anyone has or had the same or similar problems. What problem are you having?
It looks okay to me, both on Chrome and Firefox. But maybe I’m not seeing the issue.

Thanks for getting back to me. The website is an archive for old poetry/literary magazines. The reader should have the front cover from which the user can use the arrows to flick through the magazine pages. But it has just a line. I’ve uploaded an image of it:
I’ve no extentions attached to chrome so it’s very strange. When you press full screen it works again for some reason. Just not on the item page as it should. best, Greg
Hmm yeah, I’m seeing it now.
For me, reloading the page seems to make it work? Not totally sure what’s happening there… some problem with how the bookreader is calculating the size of the viewer, it looks like to me.
Does changing to another Omeka theme help at all?

It works normally with other themes. The reader seems to be a little bigger in the other themes I tried, Emiglio, Thanks Roy and Berlin. But the Seasons theme is the one that works for the project best in terms of visuality I’ve found. When I refresh the page it works also, which makes it stranger that it doesn’t work the first time.

Could you provide the versions of Omeka Classic, Seasons, and Bookreader that you’re using?

I’ve been able to reproduce your issue across all the themes, but unfortunately haven’t found the source. It happens most consistently when I resize the window displaying BookReader. The plugin is fairly old at this point; I wonder if the issue might be fixed by updating the BookReader javascript. I attempted it, but the javascript setup is now a bit beyond my ability.

The Bookreader seems to be working with Chrome this morning. If it was yourself, thanks! If not, maybe a Google update allowed it to work properly?

Ah it was working for a while. Back to not working again. I’ve no idea why.
