Auto add new Item to Item Set and/or Site

Is there a way to auto-add an Item to an existing Item Set and/or Site based on the Resource Template or Class chosen, so that editors don’t have to remember to manually add them? The User level default is not appropriate here. I was thinking a setting in the Resource Template?

I’m unaware of a way to automatically add Items to an Item Set or Site based on the Resource Template or Class.

This is perhaps another custom module you could write to hook into the item creation and add it to a site or item set based on your criteria.
