Add a Dublin Core field to Main Navigation

I’m adding magazine articles to my Omeka site as individual items. Each item is organized by the issue under collections. I’d like to add a page the main navigation to “Search by Author,” so that users can quickly navigate to all articles by author x.

The frustration is that I have done this simply and easily before but (my fault) that work is lost. I’m trying to recreate a portion of this work. I believe that before, I had added a simple URL to appearance > navigation — but no obvious slugs ("/creator", “/creator/browse”) appear to be working. Any suggestions?

Hmm. There’s no default functionality for making lists of the unique values for a field like that.

I’m wondering if maybe you were using a plugin for this? Does that ring a bell?
