We are working on a personal archive using a modified Arkivo vocabulary.
We already uploaded items using a previous version of this vocabulary.
Once we added a property to the ontology and re-loaded it to omeka-s,
we lost the link between the existing items properties wherever we used the Arkivo terms.
The question is - is there a way to update an ontology in omeka-s without loosing these links in pervious items.

Are you saying that previously-input values for properties of that vocabulary are gone? All of them? Or just some?
The procedure for updating a vocabulary in Omeka S is designed to prevent any loss of previous properties: the update process can only change labels and comments of existing properties, and add new properties. It purposely does not delete or change the “internal” names or IDs of properties that already exist.
