New themes don't appear in Admin Dashboard

Hi, I’m a first-time user of Omeka-S v2.1.2 via MAMP 5.7 on OSX 10.15.7.

My installation seems to be ok, I can add and edit new items etc. However, I never saw a Themes item in the Resources, also not after manually installing additional themes from the Omeka-S website. I looked in the forum here but didn’t see any other references to this.

Can someone suggest how I should troubleshoot? Permissions on the themes subdirectory and theme directories are drwxr-xr-x.

New themes should display in the Theme tab when editing a site.
