Is there a plugin to restrict the visibility of resources for specific users?

Hi all,

Is there a plugin to restrict the visibility of resources for specific users?

Thanks in advance.

There is not. Users that have administrative access at all permission levels can see resources, even if they cannot necessarily edit them.

Thanks, @SharonLeon, understood.

But if I set Contributor or Researcher roles for those users, which permissions can have based on roles?

In your base Omeka Classic installation, Contributors can edit their own content and see everything. Researchers can see everything but edit nothing.

Here are the user roles: https://omeka.org/classic/docs/Admin/Users/

Thank you so much for your help @SharonLeon, … meanwhile, I am reading the knowledge base I found that all logged-in site Super, Admin, Contributor, and Researcher users can view non-public content … so looks like it is a way to set content as non-public.

Do you know how to set non-public content?

Every item has a public/non public checkbox in the right column of the Edit Item interface. That setting can also be batch updated in the Item browse interface.

apps, I have not tried that, mine bad. So if I do not check the checkbutton as a public that item will not be visible for any others, only visible for me, right?

That is correct.

I might suggest that you spend some time with the End User Documentation: https://omeka.org/classic/docs/ and the screencasts: https://omeka.org/classic/docs/GettingStarted/Screencasts/
