I’m trying to place some social media icons in the header using images with transparent backgrounds, but the backgrounds are visible on the website. The white and grey checkered background is showing. Any idea why this is and how to fix it?
How are you using these images, directly linking to them, uploading them as files, or some other way?
Omeka doesn’t do any processes that create that typical “checkerboard” background for transparent images, so my instinct is to say that if you’re getting that pattern, it’s just already in the images that you’re using. Maybe the specific images you’re using are illustrations of the transparency and not the actual transparent versions?
You’re right, the background layer was an image of the transparency. Sorry about that! My mistake.
