How can I hide “featured collections” or “featured exhibit” from the main site?

Uncheck the boxes to their left in the Navigation section of the Appearances tab

Hello, can I hide Dublin core fields if not in used and the text “Dublin Core” from the item view?

Also, is it possible to hide the Citation tab and to add text to the home page or do I need to get a subscrption for that?

In answer to your first question, both of those are the checkboxes at the bottom of the Appearance Settings page.

In answer to your second, homepage text depends on your theme and would be under configuration settings for that theme.
