I have done a creative commons copyright license and put their code in the copyright box under General Settings. I also checked to have the copyright show in footer. However, it does not show the nice logo and text but only the code text. I’m sure I’m just missing something, but maybe someone can help.

The copyright field in General Settings does not support HTML. However, you should be able to use the code version in the Footer field for your theme.
