Change implied boolean logic

Hi,

The default boolean operator in Omeka is “OR”.

Can it be changed to “AND” ?

Thank you.

Which implied boolean operator are you talking about, for what search option(s)?

I don’t know if I am being clear…

  • For the query type : keyword
  • In the simple search bar (on the public side and the admin side)

Thank you for your help :grinning:

We can’t really change what the default keyword/fulltext/simple search does, it comes from MySQL and it’s designed to be “fuzzy” and return partial matches.

You can choose the advanced option “Boolean” mode and then use a plus sign (+) before each search term to require them with “AND,” but we can’t really make that the default.
